The Beauty of Nature in The Woodlands

Category(s):

Artists: Amy Malkan and Marlo Saucedo (The Woodlands, TX)

Underwriter: Howard Hughes, In Celebration of The Woodlands’ 50th Anniversary

The striking mural is 8 feet tall and 24 feet wide and is located at the base of the Millennium sculpture, next to The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion on The Woodlands Waterway®. Its design incorporates iconic elements of The Woodlands, including the monarch butterfly, hibiscus, hummingbird, and koi fish.

A collaborative work between The Woodlands Township, Howard Hughes, and The Woodlands Arts Council resulted in the installation of the mural "The Beauty of Nature in The Woodlands," in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of The Woodlands. The project involved community members and art students, who participated in a painting day held in September.
