Lane Blundell

Location(s):
The Woodlands, TX
I began woodturning shortly before retirement and have been perfecting my craft for the past 7-8 years. Being a Geologist, i collected many rocks, minerals and fossils over the past 30+ years and incorporated many aspects of that hobby into my woodturning projects. My woodturning projects include vessels, vases, urns, bowls, pens and kaleidoscopes. The woods used in my projects include whole logs, many collected locally in Texas, and various woods purchased either online or at specialty lumberyards, mainly used in my segmented pieces. Segmented pieces have been individually cut, glued, planed, turned on a lathe, sanded and finished with 3+ coats of either lacquer or polyurethane. Segmented pieces generally contain hundreds of individual pieces of wood with some pieces having over 1000 individual pieces.
